In a distressing incident in southwest Delhi’s Dwarka, a 10-year-old domestic help was allegedly subjected to severe abuse by her employer. The victim’s relatives claim that she was often assaulted with hot iron tongs and are now demanding stringent action against the accused couple responsible for the torture.
Dual Roles as Child Caretaker and Household Worker
The girl was employed to take care of the accused couple’s child, but to her detriment, she was also forced to do household chores. Her family and other relatives live in close proximity to the apartment where she worked, but they were unaware of the abuse she was enduring.
Harrowing Ordeal Unveiled
The incident came to light when the victim’s aunt spotted her being beaten up by her employer while she was working on the balcony. Disturbed by what she witnessed, the aunt, along with others, confronted the couple after they refused to come out. The child, visibly shaken and bruised, narrated her harrowing ordeal to her relatives, recounting how the woman repeatedly attacked her with hot tongs or hot iron for every mistake she made.
Cry for Justice and Accountability
The girl’s relatives are now calling for strict action against the accused couple, emphasizing the need to set an example to deter such heinous acts against vulnerable children. The accused couple, a pilot and an airline employee, have been arrested in connection with the case.
Urgent Medical Examination and Investigation
Medical examination revealed both fresh and old burn injuries on the victim’s body, indicating prolonged abuse. The authorities are currently investigating whether the burn injuries were caused during her stay with the couple. The child’s parents, who hail from a village in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district, are expected to reach Delhi to be with their daughter.
A Mob Confrontation
In a disturbing video of the incident, a mob can be seen attacking the accused couple. The situation turned tense as emotions ran high, with some women seen slapping and pulling the accused woman’s hair while she was in her uniform. In the video, the woman can be heard apologizing, and her husband shields her from the agitated crowd.
