A case has been registered by the Delhi Police after posters were found at a girl’s school in Delhi in support of former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia. The posters, featuring the words ‘I Love Manish Sisodia’, were put up at Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya located in the Shastri Park area of Delhi. This campaign in support of the former Education Minister was brought to light when the police received a complaint from a group of individuals, who alleged that the school principal, Geeta Rani, and the SMC coordinator, Ghazala, were involved in the scheme.
According to the FIR lodged with the police, there is a well-planned conspiracy to shield the guilt of the girl students studying in the SKV school. The complaint stated that the glorification of Sisodia, who was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the Delhi Excise policy case, is akin to making a mockery of the constitution. It further added that the principal provided desks from the school and hung posters in support of Sisodia.
The complainants have demanded immediate police action against the accused, including the removal of the Principal of the school. The FIR names the accused individuals, including the Principal, Geeta Rani, and the SMC coordinator, Ghazala, who have been accused of using the school for the purpose of promoting Sisodia.
It is worth noting that Sisodia was arrested by the CBI in 2018 in connection with the Delhi Excise policy case. The former Education Minister was accused of abusing his official position and causing a loss to the exchequer. Since then, Sisodia has been out on bail, and the case is still pending in court.
This incident has raised serious questions about the use of educational institutions for political purposes. The police have launched an investigation into the matter, and it remains to be seen what action will be taken against the accused.
