Congress released a “rate card” in local newspapers advertising BJP’s alleged corruption in Karnataka. The rate card has figures for “Appointment and Transfer Rates”, “Job Rates”, and the alleged commission for government deals. Congress also claimed that the Chief Minister’s post was available for a price of Rs 2500 crores and the rate of ministerial posts was Rs 500 crores. In response to the accusations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused Congress of being an “85 per cent commission” party. The Karnataka Assembly elections are scheduled to take place on May 10 and the votes will be counted on May 13. Congress has made several poll promises, including 200 units of free electricity, Rs 2,000 per month to every woman head of the family, and a ban on Bajrang Dal and PFI. Congress’s decision to ban the Bajrang Dal was later retracted by M Veerappa Moily, a senior Congress leader.
Congress alleges BJP corruption in Karnataka

To support its claims, the Congress released a ‘Corruption Rate Card’ in local newspapers in Karnataka. The rate card lists figures for “Appointment and Transfer Rates,” “Job Rates,” and alleged commission for government deals. The Congress has been targeting the BJP on the issue of corruption ahead of the Karnataka assembly elections, which are due to be held on May 10, 2023.
