Google announced the launch of the much-awaited Pixel Tablet, along with several other products and services, at its 2023 developer’s conference. The tablet is priced at $499 and is powered by Google’s new Tensor G2 SoC and the Titan M2 security chip. It is up for pre-orders in select countries and will be available in Porcelain, Hazel, and Rose colors. The tablet is targeted at smart home hub customers and comes bundled with a special Charging Speaker dock, which promises punchy bass and room-filling sound and helps the tablet connect seamlessly to smart home accessories. The Pixel Tablet is set to be available in Australia, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Japan, Norway, the Netherlands, Sweden, the UK, and the US, with no India release date announced yet.
Specifications and Features of the Pixel Tablet
The Pixel Tablet comes with an 11-inch screen, supported by four built-in speakers, and an inbuilt Chromecast that allows the tablet to stream music or videos from your phone when in Hub mode. The rear panel is made of aluminum with a nanoceramic coating, and the tablet has 8GB of RAM and storage options of 128GB or 256GB. The Pixel Tablet’s battery provides video streaming of up to 12 hours on a single charge. It has an 8-megapixel rear snapper and an 8-megapixel video calling camera at the front, along with a fingerprint scanner on the sleep button. It will run Android 13 out-of-the-box, with an update for Android 14 expected later this year. However, it does not come with 5G or LTE connectivity, only supporting Wi-Fi connectivity, emphasizing the smart home usage feature even more.
