Google has officially launched the Google Pixel 7a phone in India, which features significant camera upgrades over its predecessor, the Pixel 6a. The Pixel 7a runs on Google’s Tensor G2 chip and Titan M2 security chip, both of which also power the premium Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel 7 models. The phone comes with an 8GB RAM and 128GB storage and is available in India in three color options. It has been priced at INR 43,999 and is available for purchase on the e-commerce site Flipkart.
Elon Musk rolls out encrypted DMs on Twitter
Twitter CEO Elon Musk has announced that an early version of the long-awaited end-to-end encrypted direct messages (DMs) has been rolled out. However, he advised users, “Try it, but don’t trust it yet.” It appears that the encrypted DM feature is being rolled out in phases. The company is yet to make an official announcement.
PM Modi lays foundation stone of LIGO-India project on National Technology Day
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid the foundation stone of the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory-India (LIGO-India) on National Technology Day. The PM announced multiple projects worth more than INR 5,800 crore related to scientific and technological advancements in the country. The projects for which the foundation stone was laid include Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory. The ceremony was held at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, and the event was attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh.
