President Droupadi Murmu is all set to visit Tamil Nadu and Puducherry from August 5 to 8, 2023, where she will attend a series of events in these states.
Interaction with Mahouts and Cavadies
On the first day of her visit, President Murmu will head to the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve in Tamil Nadu. During this visit, she is expected to engage with mahouts and cavadies, highlighting her interest in wildlife conservation and the well-being of local communities.
Addressing University Convocation and Renaming Raj Bhavan Hall
The second day of the visit will be marked by significant events. President Murmu will address the 165th convocation of the University of Madras in Chennai at the Kalaivanar Arangam. Her speech is expected to inspire and motivate the graduating students.
Later in the day, she will rename the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan in Chennai as Bharatiyar Mandapam, in honor of the renowned poet Mahakavi Subramaniya Bharatiyar. This gesture is a tribute to the rich cultural heritage of Tamil Nadu.
Inaugurating Medical Facilities
On the third and final day of her visit, President Murmu will inaugurate a Linear Accelerator at Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) in Puducherry. This state-of-the-art medical equipment will significantly enhance cancer treatment capabilities in the region.
Additionally, she will virtually inaugurate a 50-bed hospital in Villanur, Puducherry, established under the National AYUSH Mission. This hospital will provide much-needed healthcare services to the local community.
Reception and Conference
During her visit, the Puducherry government will also host a reception in honor of President Murmu, acknowledging her presence and contributions.
On the concluding day, President Murmu will visit the Matrimandir at Auroville to inaugurate a conference titled ‘Aspiring for Supermind in the City of Consciousness,’ where she is expected to share insights and perspectives on achieving higher consciousness and self-awareness.
