According to the report, the EU also wants to relax qualification rules for countries that aren’t vaccinated or enter quarantine in order to be added to its’safe travel list.’ According to reports, some members of the 27-nation bloc intend to keep the doors open. For example, tourist-starved and reliant Greece announced last month that beginning in mid-May, almost all international visitors with full or Covid-tested vaccination will be permitted entry.
Only one vaccine from the European Commission’s approved list, which includes BioNTech/Pfizer, Oxford University/AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, and Moderna, should be administered 14 days before arrival.
“Member states could also extend this to those who have been vaccinated through the WHO emergency use listing process,” the European Commission said in a statement.
The EU plan includes a “Digital Green Certificate,” which serves as proof of vaccination or immunity and allows travel across internal and external EU borders. International travellers, according to the report, can obtain one by presenting proof of vaccination in their first country of destination.
Furthermore, before any proof of vaccination submitted by visitors is implemented, the Member States must verify its authenticity.
