Salman Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran Embrace Eid Box Office Clash with Mutual Respect
Empuraan, the highly awaited sequel to the 2019 Malayalam blockbuster Lucifer, is gearing up for an Eid 2025 release alongside Salman Khan’s action drama Sikandar. But while fans buzz about the potential box office clash, both camps have shown nothing but mutual admiration.
In a recent interview with News18, Salman Khan addressed the Empuraan vs Sikandar narrative, calling the Prithviraj Sukumaran directorial “an excellent film.”
“I love Mohanlal sir as an actor. Prithviraj is directing it, and I know that it’s going to be an excellent film,” Salman said, brushing off any idea of rivalry.
Adding to the sentiment, Salman also extended best wishes to Sunny Deol’s upcoming film Jaat, releasing shortly after Sikandar on April 10. “There’s Jaat also coming post-Sikandar. I wish all of them do well,” he added.

Meanwhile, at a Delhi press conference, Empuraan director Prithviraj Sukumaran echoed the same respectful tone, clarifying that there is “no competition” with Sikandar.
“Salman Khan is one of the biggest stars in the country, and there is no competition between the two movies. I hope it becomes a blockbuster,” said Prithviraj.
He even humorously encouraged fans to watch both films back-to-back:
“I will have no complaints if you watch Empuraan at 11 a.m. and Sikandar at 1 p.m.”
Empuraan, releasing on March 27, stars Mohanlal in the lead role, reprising his iconic character from Lucifer. The sequel also features Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, and Abhimanyu Singh in pivotal roles.
What to Expect from Sikandar
Releasing on March 30, Sikandar stars Salman Khan alongside Rashmika Mandanna and Kajal Aggarwal. Directed by A.R. Murugadoss, known for blockbusters like Ghajini and Thuppakki, the film promises a high-octane cinematic experience.
It also marks Salman’s reunion with producer Sajid Nadiadwala after their 2014 hit Kick.
