Jharkhand government decision On Wednesday, between 5pm on 12th June and 6am on 14th June, the government of Jharkhand announced that it would lock down completely. The government has permitted relaxation and the operation of key services.
For the fifth time in a row on 22 April Jharkhand extended the lockdown restrictions.
After a meeting with the State Disaster Management Authority, Chief Minister Hemant Soren reached the decision.
“We were able to break the coronavirus chain successfully. So, we’re going to continue.
We have therefore chosen a complete lock-down between 16:00 and 6:00 am on Saturday,” said State Minister Banna Gupta. Recently, the state had allowed shops in 15 districts to open until 16pm.
All the other shops could be reopensed in nine districts, including Bokaro, Dhanbad, Jamshedpur, Deoghar, Ranchi, Hazaribac, Garhwa, Gumla, and Ramgarh.
On Wednesday Jharkhand registered 342,179 Covid-19 cases so far with 603 fresh. With 603 new deaths the death toll reached 5,073.
Restrictions imposed in the 38-hour lockdown:
- The lockdown will be closed to all shops including those selling fruits, vegetables, food and sweets.
- It shall be authorized to operate pharmacies and medical shops.
- Operation will also be possible for LPG services and petrol pumps.
- It is not allowed to move unnecessarily people. 5. Travel permission will be granted to people traveling to hospitals, hospitals, vaccinations and Covid 19 tests.
