The veteran player Naseeruddin Shah is doing well here and is expected to be released tomorrow, said its secretary on Thursday, who undergoes pneumonia treatment in a hospital.
The 70-year-old actor was admitted on Tuesday to the non-COVID-19 non-COVID PD Hinduja hospital, in Khar.

Naseeruddin Shah’s wife, and veteran actor Ratna Pathak Shah said on Wednesday afternoon that he had in his lungs “the tiniest patch” of pneumonia and was being treated for it.
Naseeruddin Shah, a graduate of the National School of Drama (NSD) and the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), is well-known for his work in parallel cinema, having directed films such as ‘Nishant,’ ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro,’ ‘Ijaazat,’ ‘Masoom,’ and ‘Mirch Masala.’
He has also carved out a niche in commercial cinema with films such as ‘Mohra,’ ‘Sarfarosh,’ ‘Ishqiya,’ ‘The Dirty Picture,’ and ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara,’ among others.
The veteran, who has been in the business for 46 years, is also well-known for his extensive work in theatre and as the founder of Motley Productions.
The multiple National Award winner was most recently seen in the 2020 feature drama ‘Mee Raqsam.’ Legendary actor Dilip Kumar was admitted to the same hospital because of medical problems associated with age.
