Josh Hazlewood, an Australian sprinter, tore his Achilles tendon and will not compete in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Australia’s coach, Andrew McDonald, has confirmed this. The pacer will return home to Australia to recover. After the Test against South Africa last month, Hazlewood revealed that he had a left Achilles niggle.
Hazlewood had been increasing the intensity of his bowling at training in recent weeks, but couldn’t shake the injury, so he would be resting and recovering in Sydney, according to McDonald.
McDonald has confirmed that Cameron Green and Mitchell Starc will be available for the Indore Test. “He had a slight niggle in the side,” McDonald said of Todd Murphy’s injury. That should be something we can figure out before the next Test.
So, instead of a test, he’ll work out hard two days before… Simply put, it is appealing.
It was previously announced that Australian captain Pat Cummins will leave for personal reasons. The second and third Test matches are separated by ten days, with the third Test set to begin on March 1.
