Babulal Marandi: Caste Census Demand Won’t Affect BJP’s Prospects In Lok Sabha And Jharkhand Polls

Jamshedpur, Jharkhand: In a recent statement, Jharkhand BJP Chief, Babulal Marandi, expressed confidence that the opposition’s demand for a countrywide caste census would not adversely affect the BJP’s prospects in the upcoming Lok Sabha and state assembly elections, both scheduled for next year.

Strong BJP Outlook in Jharkhand Elections

"Jharkhand BJP Chief Babulal Marandi assures that the opposition's nationwide caste census demand won't impact BJP's performance in the 2024 elections."

Marandi asserted that the BJP’s performance in Jharkhand would surpass that of the 2019 elections. He outlined the party’s commitment to providing a corruption-free government, improving law and order, implementing the National Register of Citizens (NRC), and ensuring comprehensive development if they come to power in the state.

Cast-Based Reservations and Candidate Selection

Addressing concerns about the caste-based census demand, Marandi noted that caste-based reservations are prevalent throughout the country. He also pointed out that political parties often nominate candidates from the majority caste in a constituency based on party-wide surveys. In light of these factors, he believes that the opposition’s call for a nationwide caste census will not significantly impact the BJP’s electoral prospects in the Lok Sabha and Jharkhand Assembly elections.
