Other Reported Classes (ORC) Lead in Graduates
Notably, the Other Reported Classes (ORC) stand out in terms of graduates, with 24,534 individuals, accounting for 13.45 percent of their total population. This group comprises the highest percentage of graduates among all categories.
General Category Graduates
The general category follows closely behind, with 26,95,820 graduates, making up 13.41 percent of their population.
Scheduled Caste Graduates
In contrast, Scheduled Caste graduates constitute a smaller portion, with 7,83,050 individuals, representing a mere 3.05 percent of their total population.
Postgraduates and PhD Holders
Beyond undergraduate education, the survey also sheds light on postgraduate and doctorate-level qualifications.
Postgraduates in Bihar
The report reveals that Bihar is home to 10,76,700 postgraduates, comprising 0.82 percent of the population.
Doctorate Holders and Chartered Accountants
In terms of doctorate holders and chartered accountants, their numbers are relatively low, with 95,398 individuals, making up 0.07 percent of the state’s population.
Secondary and Higher Secondary Education
The report also touches on secondary and higher secondary education achievements.
Class 12 Pass Percentage
Only 9.19 percent of people, totaling 1,20,12,146 individuals, have successfully cleared their higher secondary examination.
Class 10 Pass Percentage
A larger percentage, 14.71 percent, corresponding to 19,22,99,97 people, have passed their class 10 examinations.
Digital Divide in Bihar
The survey identifies a significant digital divide in the state.
Limited Access to Laptops and Internet
Only 15 lakh people in Bihar have access to their laptops with regular internet connections, constituting less than two percent of the surveyed population.
