The Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) has criticized Rahul Gandhi, a leader of the Congress party, for his remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his speech in the United States. Union Minister Anurag Thakur accused Gandhi of consistently insulting India during his foreign visits. The BJP questioned whether Rahul Gandhi would be able to make such remarks in the US if India were not a democracy.
BJP’s Criticism of Rahul Gandhi
Anurag Thakur, a BJP leader, stated that Rahul Gandhi does not hesitate to insult India whenever he visits foreign countries. Thakur further commented that the Congress party does not consider India as a nation and their duty seems to be speaking against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also accused Congress of attempting to undermine the credibility that India has built globally. Thakur highlighted that Congress is unable to accept the fact that PM Modi is respected worldwide.
Thakur mentioned that during the 80s, when there was a Congress government in the country, injustices were allegedly done to the Dalits. He criticized the Congress party for their “mentality of slavery” and contrasted it with the pride they take in Indian culture. Thakur asserted that Rahul Gandhi insults India, Indians, and the essence of being Indian by making derogatory remarks while abroad.
BJP’s Reaction to Rahul Gandhi’s Remarks
Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, another BJP leader, responded to Rahul Gandhi’s remarks by questioning whether any leader would be able to criticize the duly elected government of the country while abroad if India were not a democracy.
Overall, the BJP has accused Rahul Gandhi of consistently insulting India on foreign soil and undermining the reputation of the country. They emphasize that the ability to make such remarks freely is a testament to India’s democratic values.
