The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the launch of a post-results counselling service for class 10 and 12 students. The service aims to offer psychological assistance to students who received their results on May 12, 2023. The counselling services will be available from May 13 to May 27, 2023, Monday to Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. CBSE will offer tele-helpline services through 59 trained counsellors, principals, special educators, and psychologists from CBSE-affiliated government and private schools across India, United Arab Emirates, and Oman. Students from all parts of the country can access the service by dialing the toll-free number 1800-11-8004 or by visiting the “Counselling” link on the CBSE website.
Decrease in Pass Percentage Recorded for CBSE Class 10 Result 2023
According to official results announced by CBSE, the overall pass percentage for CBSE Class 10 Result 2023 was 93.12 percent, which is 1.28 percent lower than the previous year’s pass percentage of 94.40 percent. Girls performed better than boys, recording a pass percentage of 94.25 percent, while the passing percentage for boys was 92.27 percent. The results did not include merit lists or award first, second, or third divisions to prevent unhealthy competition among students. Instead, CBSE will issue merit certificates to the top 0.1% of students who have scored the highest marks in individual subjects.
87.33% Pass Percentage Recorded for CBSE Class 12 Result 2023
In CBSE Class 12 board exams, the overall pass percentage was 87.33 percent. Female students outperformed male students, with a pass percentage of 90.68 percent, compared to boys who achieved a pass percentage of 84.67 percent. As with the Class 10 results, CBSE has not issued merit lists, nor awarded first, second, or third divisions.

The board will provide psychological services to students from May 13 to May 27, 2023, to help them cope with any stress or anxiety related to their results.

The counselling service will be available from Monday to Saturday, between 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Students can avail the service by dialling a toll-free number, 1800-11-8004. The service will be provided by 59 principals, trained counsellors, special educators, and psychologists from CBSE-affiliated government and private schools. Out of these, 53 experts are based in India, while six are from the United Arab Emirates and Oman.

CBSE has provided a toll-free number, 1800-11-8004, for students from any part of the country to access the counselling service. The tele-helpline service provides centralised access to the CBSE tele-counselling helpline and offers information and helpful tips to parents and students experiencing result-related anxiety or stress. Students can also access the “Counselling” link on the CBSE website for further information.
