Delhi Public School, Mathura Road in New Delhi, received a bomb threat via email on Wednesday morning, causing panic among school authorities. According to the Delhi Fire Services, the school premises were evacuated, and the Delhi police conducted a thorough search operation of the premises. No suspicious object was found on the school premises yet, and the situation is under control.
DCP South East, Rajesh Deo, confirmed that the Bomb Disposal Squad, Dog squad, and SWAT team are sanitising the school buildings. The police officials are further investigating the case to ensure the safety of the students and faculty.
Hoax bomb threats have been a recurring issue in Delhi in the past. Earlier, on 12th April 2023, the police confirmed that a bomb threat via email to a school in Delhi was a hoax. Last November, a similar email threat was traced to a Germany-based server.
