Across the country, a total of 312 cases of the Covid-19 subvariant JN.1 have been identified. Kerala stands out with approximately 47 percent of these cases, signaling a distribution trend across different states.
Genome Sequencing Details
On Monday, 19 samples were submitted for genome sequencing, revealing 15 cases with the JN.1 subvariant, two with the XBB subvariant, and the remainder with various other variants.
Local Response
Despite the emergence of these cases, health authorities in Delhi report that there has been no need for hospitalization, underscoring the potential mildness or manageable nature of the JN.1 subvariant.
While the situation is being closely monitored, the absence of hospitalizations at this point offers some reassurance. Health officials continue to conduct rigorous testing and surveillance to better understand the characteristics and implications of the JN.1 subvariant.
