The family of Disha Salian, the late celebrity manager who worked with Sushant Singh Rajput, has moved the Bombay High Court, demanding a fresh probe into the circumstances surrounding her mysterious death in June 2020.
Disha’s father, Satish Salian, has filed a petition requesting the court to register an FIR against Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray and transfer the case to the CBI, alleging a politically motivated cover-up.
According to PTI, Satish Salian’s lawyer, Nilesh Ojha, stated that the petition will be officially numbered in the High Court registry on Thursday.

Disha Salian Death Case: What Does the Petition Allege?

The plea claims that Disha Salian was raped and murdered, and the Mumbai Police hastily dismissed the case as suicide or accidental death without conducting a proper forensic and circumstantial investigation.
Key Allegations from the Petition:
- The Mumbai Police prematurely closed the case, failing to consider eyewitness testimonies and forensic evidence.
- The family initially trusted the police investigation but later suspected a cover-up to protect powerful individuals.
- Aaditya Thackeray’s name has surfaced in connection with the case, prompting the demand for a CBI investigation.
The family believes that justice has not been served, and a fresh probe is essential to uncover the truth behind Disha Salian’s death.
Shiv Sena (UBT) and Aaditya Thackeray Respond to Allegations

The Shiv Sena (UBT) has questioned the timing of the petition, alleging a political conspiracy behind the move.
Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson Kishori Pednekar stated:
“Someone is behind this, and there is a conspiracy. How has this matter resurfaced after four years? The CID and SIT have already investigated the case.”
Meanwhile, Aaditya Thackeray has dismissed the allegations, claiming that the BJP government in Maharashtra is targeting him for political gain.
“For the past five years, attempts have been made to tarnish my image. If the matter is in court, I will respond in court. My fight is for the betterment of the country,” Thackeray said in a press briefing.
What Happened to Disha Salian?

Disha Salian died on June 8, 2020, after allegedly falling from the 14th floor of a building in Malad, Mumbai.
- The Mumbai Police registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) and ruled out foul play at the time.
- Just six days later, on June 14, 2020, Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Bandra apartment, leading to nationwide media coverage and conspiracy theories.
- The public outcry led to both cases being linked, prompting the CBI to take over the investigation into Sushant’s death.
While no criminal charges were filed in Disha’s case, the Salain family’s fresh petition is expected to reignite public and media interest in the case.
What’s Next in the Legal Battle?
With the petition now before the Bombay High Court, the following developments are expected:
1️⃣ The court will decide whether an FIR should be registered against Aaditya Thackeray.
2️⃣ If granted, the case may be handed over to the CBI for an independent investigation.
3️⃣ Political reactions and legal counter-moves from Shiv Sena (UBT) and the Maharashtra government.
