Since Hu Tao back in March, Genshin Impact is about to start his first five-star hero. That would be Eula, the user of cryo claymore, and she’s almost here.
Eula will debut (in America) tomorrow, Tueday 18 May, probably at approximately 6 PM ET on North American servers, as with new banner arrivals usually occurring half a day earlier in the Asian region.
For MiHoYo, it is uncommon to debut a new character trailer before a character is released, showing its prowess in combat to see if it seems cool enough to play for Primogems. But they went down a…different path in Eula’s case. And they know what they’re doing exactly.
Eula’s new trailer “Flickering Candlelight” shows her uh dance movements, which her fighting style appears to be based on. In this video, however, it’s mainly a lot of regular dance, which she used to say is an aristocraty (she comes from one of the old families of Mondstadt).
The video ends in a fun note in which Amber shows up and asks Eula whether she is all right, and Eula asks her if she wants to dance with her. Unfortunately, we can’t see what happens next and fans are now demanding a whole scripted dance routine.
It is a fun trailer and a sharp contrast to Xiao who’s all like “pain and death and destruction!” who kills a bunch of enemies. And Eula is here… dancing. I’d expect a tonne of video remixes to be done with her dancing on different songs. Actually, I’ll look up this now and…yup.
EULA: It Starts. It Begins.
The trailer has 1.2 million views, although it is only online for nine hours. Here are the actual combat moves of Eula, not dance moves, if you think that her kit might be good for your team:
Eula slashes quickly, dealing with Cryo DMG. Icetide Vortex (Press) By hitting an opponent, Eula gains a stack of Grimheart. Grimheart increases the interruption of Eula’s DEF and RES.
Icetide Vortex (Hold) – Eula consumes the stacks of Grimheart, and its Physical RES and Cryo RES will have decreased. Each stack of Grimheart consumed is converted into an Icewhirl brand, which handles Cryo DMG to close opponents.
Eula offers Cryo DMG to nearby adversaries and builds a Lightfall Sword that follows her for a certain length. If their own normal, elementary and Elemental Burst attacks give DMG to their opponents, they charge Lightfall Sword until the Lightfall Sword exploses violently when its duration ends.
