While many Grand Theft Auto fans are panicking because of a new GTA 6 tweet, other GTA fans are losing their minds on Reddit. To create a believable map for GTA 5, Rockstar Games surveyed the greater Los Angeles area. As a result, many of the game’s landmarks are based on real-life locations. To that end, one Reddit user recently discovered what appears to be Trevor’s meth lab inspiration.
A new PlayStation Store sale has begun, offering a plethora of discounts on PS4 and PS5 games. And, as usual, there are some absolute bargains. If you’re looking for Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, The Last of Us Part II, GTA 5, Returnal, MLB The Show 21, Ghost of Tsushima, or the latest and greatest PS4 and PS5 games, the games listed below will let you down. If, on the other hand, you’re looking for quality PS4 games for less than $3.99, you’ve come to the right place.
On Reddit, a user shared a photo they took of an abandoned building in California that resembles Trevor’s meth lab in the game. There are some differences, but there are also some striking similarities.
You can see a side-by-side comparison of Trevor’s meth lab and the real-life location that appears to have inspired it below:
One user reveals the location in the comments of the post, which is right off CA-111 on the east side of the Salton Sea. To that end, they point out that if you search for “Historic North Shore Service Station” in Google Maps, you can see the building shown above, which is right next to it.

For the period being, start taking all of this with a grain of salt. While it appears that the location in the game is based on the location above, we can’t be sure. Of course, Rockstar Games, or someone working there, could squash the speculation with official information and insight, but this is unlikely. If it does, we will update the storey accordingly.
