Hyundai is set to launch the Exter micro SUV on July 10th, with bookings already underway. Deliveries are expected to begin at the end of July, and interested customers can reserve a unit by paying Rs 11,000.
Power and Platform
The Exter is built on the Nios and Aura platform, which explains its 1.2L petrol engine. The petrol variant will offer a power output of 83bhp and 114Nm torque, along with a 5-speed manual transmission as standard and an optional AMT automatic.
CNG Model and Fuel Compatibility
Additionally, there will be a CNG model available with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 1.2L Kappa petrol engine is also E20 fuel-ready, offering increased fuel options for customers.
Segment-First Features
Hyundai has confirmed several segment-first features for the Exter. These include a dashcam, six airbags as standard, a rearview camera, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), hill-hold assist, connected car technology, and automatic headlamps.
Electric Sunroof and Variants
The Exter boasts a first-in-segment electric sunroof that can be controlled through voice commands, adding a touch of innovation to this micro SUV. The Exter will be available in multiple variants, including EX, S, SX, SX(O), and SX(O) Connect trims.
Stylish Design and Color Options
Design-wise, the Exter showcases a parametric grille, H-Signature LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lights), projector headlamps, skid plate, and tail-lamps with H signature lighting pattern. It also offers diamond-cut alloys that enhance its sporty appearance. The Exter comes in six monotone and three dual-tone exterior color options, including two new colors.
Positioned in the Hyundai SUV Range
The Exter will serve as an entry-level SUV in Hyundai’s lineup, positioned below the Venue. Hyundai aims to capture a larger market share with the Exter, targeting customers looking for a feature-packed micro SUV.
