In a significant development, security forces in Jammu and Kashmir averted a major tragedy when they discovered a suspicious bag at the Zangam flyover, which led to the immediate halt of traffic movement on the Srinagar-Baramulla National Highway. The incident, which took place on Monday, prompted a swift response from the Army and other security agencies to assess and neutralize the potential threat.
Joint Action by Police, 29RR, and CRPF

Upon discovering the suspicious bag, a coordinated effort was launched, with a team comprising of police, 29RR (Rashtriya Rifles), and CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) promptly rushing to the location on the Srinagar National Highway in Baramulla. Realizing the seriousness of the situation, the Bomb Disposal Squad was summoned to examine the object carefully.
IED Safely Defused Without Damage
During the assessment, it was confirmed that the bag contained an Improvised Explosive Device (IED). Thankfully, due to the swift response and expertise of the Bomb Disposal Squad, the IED was successfully defused without causing any harm or damage. As a result, traffic on the Srinagar-Baramulla National Highway was later restored to normal.
