The Indian Navy recently conducted twin-carrier CBG (Carrier Battle Group) operations in the Arabian Sea, involving more than 35 aircraft. The objective of this operation was to showcase the Navy’s ability to ensure sustained air operations across the maritime region and emphasize its commitment to safeguarding India’s national interests. The news agency ANI reported this development on Saturday.
Trilateral Maritime Partnership Exercise Strengthens Cooperation
In another significant event, India, France, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) successfully completed their first-ever trilateral Maritime Partnership Exercise on June 8. This two-day exercise involved the navies of the three nations from June 7 to June 8. The exercise encompassed various operations at sea, including surface warfare, tactical firing, missile engagements, close-quarter maneuvers, advanced air defense exercises with French Rafale and UAE Dash 8 MPA, helicopter cross-landing operations, and drills for replenishment at sea. The Ministry of Defense released a statement on Friday highlighting the exercise’s comprehensive nature.
The exercise fostered cross-embarkation of personnel, facilitating the exchange of best practices among the participating units. It has further strengthened maritime ties between the navies, enhanced interoperability, and enabled them to address traditional and non-traditional threats in the maritime environment. These efforts contribute to ensuring the safety of mercantile trade and the freedom of navigation in the region.
