During a speech at a Republic Day event on Thursday, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha promised to get back at terrorists who attacked the area. Sinha praised the work of security agencies to cut down on terror attacks and said that they had stepped up their efforts to disrupt the system that finances and supports terrorism.
“Every drop of blood and tears” shed in Jammu and Kashmir due to the brutal killings of innocents at the behest of the neighbouring country will be avenged, Sinha said. He did not name the neighbouring country, but India has long accused Pakistan of supporting separatist militants in the region.
Sinha also praised the efforts of the security forces in maintaining peace and stability in the region, saying that “our security forces have been successful in maintaining peace and tranquillity in Jammu and Kashmir, and have been able to foil the nefarious designs of the enemies of the nation.”
