Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha paid tribute to five army officers who lost their lives during a terrorist encounter in Rajouri district. The incident took place on Friday when five army officials were killed due to an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion in a dense forest area. In this regard, the LG laid wreaths on the mortal remains of the deceased army personnel, saluting them one by one. Two soldiers were killed earlier, and three out of four injured soldiers succumbed to their injuries later, according to an Army statement.
Tribute Paid to Army Officials

Details of the Encounter
On Friday, five Army officials were killed when militants cornered by the troops triggered an explosion in a densely forested area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district. Another officer got injured in the explosion which was caused by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).
Review of Security Situation
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also arrived in Jammu on Saturday to review the security situation in the Jammu sector. Army Chief Gen Manoj Pande will also be visiting Jammu along with Singh to review the security situation. Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi is already on ground zero, reported ANI citing defence sources. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will also pay tributes to the five martyrs in Rajouri.
