Kerala student E.V. Divya has mastered cartoon drawing with both her hands, feet and mouth simultaneously. It is not an artist by profession, but a nursing student.
Divya is a third year nursing student from Thrissur in Kerala who started drawing cartoons last year during lockdown. She said she was tired of staying at home while locking down, so she thought about how to make the most of her free time after the online class.
In addressing the news agency IANS, Divya said, “I tried and soon I became interested in drawing caricatures. I thought I could draw quite well when I felt I was using my left hand and it was soon a success.
Then I tried both hectares She said she did the same in her free time throughout the past year and received full support from her parents. She also has a younger sister, and they have all given her moral help.
“I tried to reinvent myself this year and put a pen on my right foot and I began scribbling, and then soon I realised that I could. Then I put my left foot again with another marker pen, too,” Divya added.
“I decided last month why I couldn’t put a pen in my mouth and I could also be very successful here. I used five marker styles from last month and drew the same picture of a person with different styles,” Divya added.
“The first caricature I drew was by the actor Jayasurya and it came out well, and I was very glad he answered me once I shared his image which I drew. This is a great boost and I’ve drawn other people since then,” Divya said.
The answer came, “Superstar Mammootty.” And when asked, who she was planning to draw next. I take the first picture of a person with my right hand to draw a person.
I use five marker styles once I know the picture has come out well. I have to finish a caricature about four hours.
It took me six hours when I first did it. I want to do this in less time now,” said the artist and was thrilled about Mammootty drawing.
