Weaknesses

Nitish Rana, the captain, will be under the spotlight to see whether the added responsibility helps his batting. Apart from him, Shardul Thakur is very useful as a lower-order batter, and Andre Russell is always the key man.

Players to watch out for include Litton Das, the Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter who has been in excellent form in recent times, David Wiese, who is back in the IPL after seven long years, and Narayan Jagadeeshan, the Tamil Nadu wicketkeeper-batter who can be an answer to KKR’s opening woes.

Regular skipper Shreyas Iyer is out with a back injury, and it is not clear when he will be available.
