Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Dr. Priscilla Chan have welcomed their third child together. Zuckerberg shared the news of their daughter Aurelia Chan Zuckerberg’s birth through an Instagram post.
In the post, Zuckerberg shared a picture of himself with the newborn and wrote, “Welcome to the world, Aurelia Chan Zuckerberg! You’re such a little blessing.” In another photo shared in the same post, Priscilla can be seen holding baby Aurelia close to her and giving her skin-to-skin contact.
Zuckerberg and Chan got married in 2012 and already have two daughters – five-year-old August and seven-year-old Maxima. Since Zuckerberg shared the announcement post of his baby girl’s arrival, it has generated over three lakh likes with people congratulating the couple in the comment section.
The Harvard University dropout billionaire announced his wife’s pregnancy through an Instagram post in September last year with a photo of the couple where Zuckerberg was holding Chan’s baby bump. The duo can be seen smiling at the camera. He captioned the picture, “Lots of love. Happy to share that Max and August are getting a new baby sister next year.”
Mark Zuckerberg is known for being one of the most successful entrepreneurs in history. He co-founded Facebook while he was still a student at Harvard University and has since grown it into one of the largest social media platforms in the world. In 2021, he changed the name of Facebook’s parent company to Meta to reflect its focus on building the metaverse.
Priscilla Chan is a pediatrician and philanthropist. She met Zuckerberg while they were both students at Harvard University. After completing her medical degree at the University of California, San Francisco, she worked as a pediatrician at San Francisco General Hospital. In 2015, she and Zuckerberg launched the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, a philanthropic organization focused on advancing human potential and promoting equality.
The couple’s first daughter Maxima was born in 2015. In an open letter to their newborn daughter, Zuckerberg and Chan pledged to donate 99% of their Facebook shares to charity during their lifetime. Their second daughter August was born in 2017.
The arrival of their third daughter Aurelia is sure to bring even more joy to their family. It will be interesting to see how Zuckerberg balances his responsibilities as a father of three with his role as CEO of one of the largest tech companies in the world.
