After opting to bat first, SRH crumbled to 163 in 18.4 overs, despite a spirited 74 off 41 balls from youngster Aniket Verma and Heinrich Klaasen’s 32 off 19.
The spotlight, however, was on Mitchell Starc, who claimed 5 wickets, including two in the 19th over to clean up the tail. His pace and accuracy were too hot to handle for the SRH lower order.
Kuldeep Yadav was equally impressive in the middle overs, finishing with 3 for 22, ensuring SRH never gained momentum after their early wickets.
DC’s Chase: Faf and Fraser-McGurk Set the Tone
Chasing 164, DC came out firing. Faf du Plessis smashed 50 off 27 balls, while Jake Fraser-McGurk added a steady 38 off 32 to lay a solid platform.
The chase was completed in just 16 overs, with Tristan Stubbs finishing things off in style, smashing two consecutive boundaries off impact sub Wiaan Mulder in the 14th over.
DC’s Form Rises, SRH Left Reeling
This win moves Delhi Capitals closer to the top tier of the IPL 2025 points table, with their batting and bowling both firing in tandem. Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad will need to rethink their bowling approach, especially after failing to defend a decent total.
