Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Gujarat on Friday, May 12th, 2023, to inaugurate several development projects worth nearly Rs 4,400 crore. The PM will also allot homes to 19,000 beneficiaries built under the central government’s housing scheme. He will attend the ‘Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Sangh Adhiveshan’ in Gandhinagar and visit GIFT City, where he will review the status of various ongoing projects.
Inauguration of Development Projects
During the programme in Gandhinagar, the PM will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of development projects worth over Rs 2,450 cr. These include projects from the Urban Development Department, Water Supply Department, Road and Transport Department, and Mines and Minerals Department. The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna scheme will be handed over to beneficiaries, with a total outlay of around Rs 1,950 crore.
Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Sangh Adhiveshan
The ‘Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Sangh Adhiveshan’ is the 29th biennial conference of the All India Primary Teachers’ Federation, where the theme of this conference is ‘Teachers are at the Heart of Transforming Education’.
GIFT City
The Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) is a central business district in the Indian state of Gujarat, developed by the Gujarat Urban Development Company. During his visit to GIFT City, the PM will review the status of various ongoing projects there and have an interaction with GIFT IFSC to understand their experience and future plans.
