The Moto G Power, one of Motorola‘s best low-cost Android phones last year, finally received the Android 11 update earlier this month. While the update was initially restricted to the Unlocked variant in the United States, it has now begun to be rolled out to the Verizon model as well (via PiunikaWeb).
Motorola Moto G Force (2021)
The Motorola Moto G Power (2021), like its predecessor, has a large 5,000mAh battery that can last up to three days on a single charge. It also has a modern design and provides a clean software experience.
According to Verizon’s support page for the Motorola Moto G Power, the update arrives as RPM31.Q1-54-13 and includes a slew of new features as well as the April 2021 Android security patch.
According to the official changelog, the update “improves video calling.” All of the standard Android 11 features, such as chat bubbles, streamlined media controls, and one-time permissions, are also present.
If you have a Verizon Motorola Moto G Power and haven’t yet received the Android 11 update, you can look for it manually by opening the Settings app and going to About phone > System updates. However, it should be noted that the phone will not receive the Android 12 update.
The firmware version RPM31.Q1-54-13 is included with the Verizon Motorola Moto G Power Android 11 update. Notably, the update is being distributed in batches via OTA, as is customary.
As a result, not every Verizon Motorola Moto G Power will receive the Android 11 update at the same time. The process is gradual, and it may take some time for every smartphone to be reached.
However, if you haven’t yet received the update, you can manually check for it. To accomplish this, navigate to the Settings menu. Then select About Phone. Tap on System Updates from here.
If a new update is available, you must tap on the notification to begin the Android 11 update download. When the download is complete, tap the Install button to begin installing it on your Verizon Moto G Power smartphone.
As previously stated, unlocked models have already received updates in the United States and a few other countries. The good news is that, unlike unlocked models, which received the February Motorola security patch, this Verizon update includes an April patch.
The update appears to have been available for a few days. As a result, you should keep an eye out for the notification. If it is still not available for your device, all you can do is wait.
