Motorola Edge 60 Series Launch: AI Features, Curved Display & Powerful Specs
Motorola returns to India’s premium mid-range game with the Edge 60 and Edge 60 Pro, launching June 10 with high-end displays, AI assistants, and flagship-like design.

New Delhi, June 6, 2025: Motorola, once a household name in India’s mobile scene, is preparing for a notable comeback. On June 10, the company will launch its new Edge 60 series, featuring the Motorola Edge 60 and Edge 60 Pro. The move appears to be Motorola’s most serious attempt in years to carve out a place for itself in the premium mid-range category—a space that’s currently buzzing with competition from brands like Samsung, Xiaomi, and OnePlus.
From what Motorola has officially shared so far, it’s clear the company isn’t just testing the waters. These devices aren’t just about bigger screens and better specs—they’re also about AI integration, smarter design, and adding practical value where it actually matters.
Brighter Screens, Bolder Intent
The Motorola Edge 60 brings with it a 6.67-inch pOLED screen with a 1.5K resolution and a peak brightness that hits 4,500 nits. To put it simply, this should remain visible even when you’re outdoors under harsh sunlight—something Indian users will appreciate.
As for the Edge 60 Pro, it leans even further into premium territory with a slightly larger 6.7-inch display that curves on all sides. The quad-curved pOLED panel doesn’t just look sleek; it genuinely improves in-hand feel, especially for people who prefer edge-to-edge immersion. Both displays maintain a fluid 120Hz refresh rate.
The Specs That Matter
What’s powering the Motorola Edge 60 is the MediaTek Dimensity 7400, a fairly capable processor that’s been paired with 12GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. On paper, that’s a strong setup. But more importantly, if you’ve used any recent Motorola phones, you’ll know the company’s software is lightweight and responsive—meaning those specs aren’t just for show. Whether you’re flipping between apps, watching something on OTT, or jumping into a game or two, the phone should hold its own without fuss.
The Edge 60 Pro, meanwhile, steps things up. It runs on the Dimensity 8350 Extreme Edition—a newer and more performance-focused chip. Motorola is offering it in two RAM variants: 8GB and 12GB, both with the same 256GB storage. It’s clearly aimed at more demanding users—those who want their phone to handle video editing, gaming, and heavy multitasking without a hitch.
Camera Hardware with Some Real Muscle
Here’s where Motorola seems to be swinging big. Both the Edge 60 and Pro come equipped with a triple rear camera setup. At the heart is a 50MP primary shooter backed by Sony’s LYTIA 700C sensor, known for sharp low-light shots and accurate skin tones—something Indian users particularly care about.
This is complemented by a 50MP ultra-wide and a 10MP telephoto camera offering 3x optical zoom. It’s a balanced, well-thought-out combo, not just for the specs sheet but for real use—think landscapes, food shots, and that street vendor who makes the best chai in your lane.
On the front, both models carry a 50MP selfie cam. It’s not often you see such aggressive front camera specs, but considering how much time we now spend on video calls, reels, and selfies, it’s a move that makes sense.
Battery and Charging: Strong Where It Counts
Motorola isn’t cutting corners when it comes to battery either. The Edge 60 packs a 5,500mAh unit with support for 68W TurboPower charging. That should easily get most people through a full day with juice to spare.
The Pro model, as expected, goes further with a 6,000mAh battery and support for 90W wired fast charging, 15W wireless charging, and 5W reverse wireless. For anyone who’s ever found themselves scrambling for a charger before a late-night cab ride, that level of flexibility is more than welcome.
Smarter Software with AI at the Forefront
A standout feature in both devices is Motorola’s approach to AI. Instead of locking users into one assistant, the company is offering the flexibility to choose between Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, and Perplexity AI—each with its own strengths.
To make the experience more useful from day one, Motorola is also bundling three months of complimentary access to Gemini Advanced and Perplexity Pro, along with 2TB of cloud storage. It’s an offering that aligns with how many people now use AI tools for research, writing, summarizing, and day-to-day productivity.
The phones come preloaded with Android 15, topped with Motorola’s refined Hello UI, which sticks closely to stock Android but adds just enough custom tweaks to keep things fresh.
Design That Holds Up in the Real World
Motorola’s focus on durability is another highlight. Both models are rated IP68 and IP69, meaning they’re resistant to water and dust. Whether you’re caught in a downpour or working in dusty outdoor environments, these phones are designed to survive more than just desk duty.
Audio is also well-supported with stereo speakers tuned with Dolby Atmos, giving users a fuller, more immersive soundstage—whether watching movies or playing music on the go.
Availability and Pricing
The Motorola Edge 60 Pro is priced at ₹29,999 for the 8GB variant and ₹33,999 for the 12GB one. The pricing of the Edge 60 hasn’t been made official yet, but early expectations suggest it will be placed slightly lower to offer a wider entry point for consumers.
Both devices will be available for purchase starting June 10, through Flipkart and select offline retail partners across the country.
What to expect then?
It’s easy to overlook Motorola in today’s flashy smartphone market, but the brand seems to have taken the time to understand what Indian users actually want—practical performance, a clean interface, reliable hardware, and now, smart AI integrations.
The Edge 60 series feels less like a gimmick drop and more like a calculated comeback. It’s designed for people who don’t need celebrity campaigns to tell them what a good phone looks like—they’ll know it when they see one.
