Manish Malhotra has proof that Neetu Kapoor is getting ready for her upcoming flick Jugjugg Jeeyo. Manish, the costume designer, tweeted a video of himself dancing to the hook step of The Punjaabban song with Neetu and her daughter, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, on Friday. The video is dedicated to filmmaker Karan Johar, who is supporting the project through his production company.
Karan Johar responded to the video with “Fab” and a slew of emoticons. Varun Dhawan praised Manish, saying, “You should have become a hero.” Heart emoticons were also sent to Saba Pataudi. Meanwhile, in the comments section, people couldn’t stop admiring Neetu.
The Punjaabban Song is an adaptation of the Pakistani song Nach Punjaban. Gippy Grewal, Zahrah S Khan, Tanishk Bagchi, and Romy performed it, with music and lyrics by Tanishk Bagchi and Abrar Ul Haq. The song has sparked debate after it was incorporated in the trailer for JugJugg Jeeyo.
Abrar Ul Haq has accused the film’s creators of stealing his tune without permission. “I have not sold my song Nach Punjaban to any Indian film and maintain the right to sue for damages.” Copy tracks should not be used by producers such as @karanjohar. This is the sixth time my song has been duplicated, and it will not be tolerated. “@DharmaMovies @karanjohar,” he wrote on Twitter. T-Series, the music label, responded by dismissing Abrar’s concerns and claiming that they had lawfully secured the rights to adapt the song.
