Pawan Kalyan Lays Road to Tribal Upliftment, Vows Development Despite No Votes

Alluri Sitharama Raju District, April 7, 2025:
In a powerful message of inclusive governance, Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan reaffirmed the NDA government’s commitment to tribal welfare, launching a major infrastructure push in Andhra Pradesh’s most neglected regions. From laying foundation stones for roads to promising bridges and healthcare, Pawan Kalyan’s visit to Pedapadu village was more than ceremonial — it was a political promise in action.

Laying the foundation for a BT road worth ₹2.12 crore in Dumbriguda mandal of ASR district, he cited the daily struggles of tribal people as a call to action, especially their dependence on ‘dolis’ to carry the sick and pregnant women across inaccessible terrain.

“Tribal People Didn’t Vote for NDA, But We’ll Still Build for Them”: Pawan Kalyan

With remarkable candour, Pawan Kalyan acknowledged the lack of electoral support from these communities but stressed that true governance goes beyond votes:

“Though the tribal people did not vote for NDA candidates, we are here to serve them. We want NDA flags fluttering in these regions by the next election.”

His visit was part of the NDA government’s broader rural and tribal upliftment agenda, building on PM Modi’s Gram Sadak Yojana, which he credited as an inspiration.

₹49 Crore Sanctioned Before Central Release

Highlighting swift state action, the Deputy CM said:

“Before the Centre even released funds, I approached CM Chandrababu Naidu and he sanctioned ₹49 crore for tribal roads.”

This proactive move comes in contrast to the previous YSRCP government, which only managed to connect 90 tribal habitations with roads over a five-year term. In just nine months, the NDA alliance government has sanctioned ₹1,000 crore for improving tribal infrastructure.

Adavi Thalli Bata: A New Dawn for Tribal Areas

Pawan Kalyan unveiled the ‘Adavi Thalli Bata’ programme, a multi-pronged development initiative that includes:

  • Road connectivity to remote hamlets
  • Drainage systems
  • Schools and educational centres
  • Drinking water facilities
  • Health centres and Anganwadis

“This programme will transform the lives of the tribals and bring lasting development,” he told the gathering.

A Memorandum, A Bridge, and A Promise

Local tribal woman Pangi Madhuri submitted a memorandum to the Deputy CM detailing the dire need for a bridge across Chaparai Gedda. In response, Pawan Kalyan made a public assurance:

“A bridge will be constructed. Give me two months, and we will find a solution. This bridge is needed not only for convenience but to promote tourism and economic activity.”

Warm Welcome with Tradition and Trek

Pawan Kalyan was greeted with a cultural flourish — Dhimsa dance, traditional Kodhi songs, harathi, and garlands. Demonstrating a symbolic gesture of accessibility, he trekked to the village, connecting physically and emotionally with the people.

Minister Sandhya Rani Backs Push, Urges Forest Clearance

Tribal Welfare Minister G. Sandhya Rani, who accompanied the Deputy CM, hailed his commitment to visit tribal belts once every month — a promise he has kept.

She urged officials to resolve forest land clearance issues swiftly, so that road and infrastructure projects don’t face bureaucratic delays:

“The on-ground work has to match the intent. Forest permissions must be expedited.”

A Model of Governance That Transcends Politics

With Pawan Kalyan tribal development Andhra Pradesh efforts now taking center stage, the NDA government is setting a new benchmark in welfare governance — not just with speeches, but by redirecting funds, trekking into the interiors, and publicly declaring support for communities that didn’t support them at the polls.

This bold and proactive approach could not only reshape tribal regions but also redraw the political map in coming elections.
