Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled road show in Bhopal and visit to Shahdol district in Madhya Pradesh has been postponed. The visit was intended to honor the 16th-century warrior queen Rani Durgavati. The decision to postpone the visit was made due to a warning of heavy rainfall in the region.
Flagging Off Five Vande Bharat Trains
Despite the postponement of his visit, Prime Minister Modi will still flag off five Vande Bharat trains today. The trains will connect important cities in various parts of the country and aim to improve connectivity. Two of the trains will be for Madhya Pradesh, while the other three will be in Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Bihar.
Virtual Interaction with BJP Booth Workers
During his virtual address from Bhopal, PM Modi will also have an opportunity to interact with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) booth workers. The interaction is part of the “Mera Booth Sabse Mazboot” (My Booth is the Strongest) program and aims to empower dedicated workers and further the goal of a developed India.
Rani Durgavati Balidan Diwas and Rani Durgavati Gourav Yatra
The postponed visit to Shahdol was intended for the participation of PM Modi in the Virangana Rani Durgavati Balidan Diwas and Rani Durgavati Gourav Yatra culmination event. Rani Durgavati was the ruling queen of Gondwana in the mid-16th century and is remembered for her valour and sacrifice in fighting against Mughal Emperor Akbar’s forces.
Weather Warning and Rescheduling
The decision to postpone PM Modi’s visit and road show in Bhopal and Shahdol was made in light of an orange alert issued by the India Meteorological Department for heavy to very heavy and extremely heavy rainfall in Madhya Pradesh on the scheduled day. A separate date will be worked out for the events in Shahdol.
