Priyanka Gandhi’s speech at the ‘Yuva Sangharshana Sabha’ focused on the issues faced by the youth and unemployed in Telangana. She urged the people to vote for the Congress in the upcoming elections and promised to fulfill the party’s promises if elected to power. She emphasized that her mother and former Congress chief, Sonia Gandhi, granted statehood to Telangana without worrying about the political damage to the party.
Gandhi also took a dig at Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and accused his government of failing to deliver on its promises. She stated that the state of Telangana became a reality not because of any one leader but because of the movement of all sons and daughters of Telangana and hundreds of martyrs who laid down their lives.
In her speech, she criticized the KCR government’s failure to provide jobs for every household, an unemployment allowance of Rs. 3,000, and filling 2 lakh vacancies. She claimed that three farmers end their lives in Telangana every day and that 8,000 farmers have committed suicide in the last nine years. Moreover, she stated that 2.5 lakh farmers still have a debt burden of Rs. 1.5 lakh each.
Priyanka Gandhi issued the Hyderabad Youth Declaration under which Congress promised Rs. 4,000 as an unemployment allowance. She assured the youth that unlike the BRS, which did not fulfill the promise of a Rs. 3,000 unemployment allowance, the Congress will keep its promise. The Congress also promised to fill 2 lakh vacancies in government departments, an annual job calendar, and a government job each, and a pension for the families of Telangana martyrs.
Overall, Priyanka Gandhi’s speech focused on the issues faced by the people of Telangana and criticized the KCR government for failing to deliver on its promises.
