PlayStation announced earlier this week that it would be releasing two new PS5 DualSense controllers in different colour schemes.
The announcement was met with joy and excitement from a number of fans who have been requesting different colour options other than the black and white standard controller that has been available since the PS5 launched last year. While both of these new controllers are currently available for pre-order, it appears that they will not retail for the same price for one reason or another.
Yes, there is a price difference between the Cosmic Red and Midnight Black PS5 DualSense controllers that are set to be released in the near future for some strange reason.
The Midnight Black controller, which, as the name suggests, is entirely shrouded in black, retails for $69.99. This is the same price as the standard white and black DualSense model that is currently available on store shelves.
The Cosmic Red model, on the other hand, costs a full five dollars more, at $74.99. So, what exactly is the reason for this? Is there anything unique about the Cosmic Red DualSense that the Midnight Black model lacks? When it comes to the internals, they’re both the same controller. The reason for the price difference, on the other hand, is something we’ve seen from Sony for years.

What do you think of this Cosmic Red DualSense controller, despite the slight price increase? Are you going to get one for yourself? If so, you’ll be able to find one in a store near you starting next month on June 11, which also happens to be the release date for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.
