Just as it seemed Ravindra would press on, Glenn Maxwell produced a moment of magic. In the 7th over, Ravindra stepped out in an attempt to continue his onslaught. Sensing the move early, Maxwell dragged the length back, allowing his off-break to spin away from the left-hander.
Ravindra was left stranded mid-pitch as the ball beat his bat and the keeper completed an easy stumping. The Kiwi walked back after a well-compiled 36 off 21 (4 fours, 2 sixes, SR 171.43).
Still a Mountain to Climb for CSK
While the powerplay effort was encouraging, CSK still trailed PBKS, who had notched 75/3 in their first six overs — 16 runs more than the Super Kings.
With the required rate still hovering near 11 per over, the focus now shifts to Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, who joined Conway in the middle. Gaikwad has had a lukewarm season so far, and his role in stabilizing and accelerating will be crucial in the middle overs.
Ravindra’s Growing Value to CSK
Even in defeat, Ravindra continues to shine as a versatile top-order option for CSK. His ability to attack in the powerplay and bowl useful overs gives the team flexibility. If CSK are to bounce back this season, the New Zealand star will likely be a central figure in that push.
