The budget outlines several key projects, including the construction of nine expressways, the recruitment of 1.25 lakh individuals in government roles, and extensive rural electrification programs.
Key Highlights:
Infrastructure Development: Roads, Expressways, and Metro Expansion

A significant portion of the Rajasthan Budget 2025-26 focuses on infrastructure, with Rs 60,000 crore earmarked for nine new greenfield expressways. These expressways will span 2,750 kilometers, improving connectivity across the state and fostering economic growth. Additionally, under the Bharat Mala Project, the government will rehabilitate 21,000 kilometers of existing roads with a budget of Rs 6,000 crore.
To improve urban mobility, the government has launched a new phase of the Jaipur Metro while discontinuing the Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) for better traffic flow. Furthermore, 15 ring roads will be constructed in key cities like Jhalawar, Dungarpur, Jaisalmer, and Balotra.
Employment and Economic Growth Initiatives:

A major highlight of the budget is the creation of 1.25 lakh new jobs in government departments and state projects. This initiative is expected to strengthen employment opportunities across Rajasthan and boost economic stability.
Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari emphasized that under Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma’s leadership, the state’s GDP is projected to surpass Rs 19.89 lakh crore in 2025-26. Rajasthan’s capital expenditures have also increased by nearly 40% in a short span, reflecting strong economic growth.
Power Sector Reforms: Focus on Renewable Energy

The Rajasthan government is making significant strides in the power sector, ensuring sustainable and affordable electricity. Key initiatives include:
- 5,000 new agricultural power connections to support farmers.
- 5 lakh new household electricity connections to expand access to power.
- 150 units of free electricity for eligible families.
- Installation of solar panels in select beneficiary households to promote renewable energy.
These initiatives aim to make electricity more accessible and affordable while encouraging the use of sustainable energy sources.
Water Supply and Rural Development:
To improve drinking water access, Rs 400 crore has been allocated for additional drinking water connections. The budget also includes Rs 15 crore for arid regions and Rs 10 crore per assembly constituency to enhance local infrastructure and facilities.
The Rajasthan Budget 2025-26 lays a strong foundation for economic growth with a focus on infrastructure, employment, and energy reforms. The nine expressways, massive job creation, and expansion of power supply indicate a forward-thinking approach to development. With these initiatives, Rajasthan is set to witness a transformative phase, ensuring better connectivity, improved quality of life, and economic prosperity.
