Rhea Chakraborty’s Lawyer Welcomes CBI Closure Report in Sushant Singh Rajput Case, Says ‘Truth Has Prevailed’

Following the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filing a closure report in the death case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyer, Satish Maneshinde, has reiterated that his client had no involvement in the tragic incident.

In a statement to the media, Maneshinde said,
“I have been saying from the first day that Rhea Chakraborty had nothing to do with Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.” He further added that the complaint filed on July 27, 2020, against Chakraborty initiated a sequence of legal events that led to the CBI taking over the investigation.

Sushant Singh Rajput, 34, was found dead at his Bandra residence on June 14, 2020. The initial probe by the Maharashtra Police treated the case as a suicide, supported by the postmortem report from Cooper Hospital which cited asphyxia due to hanging.

According to Maneshinde,
“Rhea Chakraborty’s statement was recorded early in the Mumbai Police investigation, and the then DCP of Bandra Zone found no link between her and Sushant’s death.”

Maneshinde clarified that Rhea had left Sushant’s residence on June 8, after increasing tension due to his alleged drug use and medication. “There was no contact between Rhea and Sushant after that,” he said.

Maneshinde stated,
“At the time of his death, Sushant was living with two to three flatmates and house staff. Still, his family dragged Rhea into the matter and alleged financial fraud, which was never proven.”
