Notably, NTPC, Axis Bank, Tata Motors, Airtel, HCL, Nestle, and TCS took the lead among the ranks of gainers. On the flip side, some prominent names such as Reliance, M&M, HUL, Bajaj Finserv, L&T, Maruti, and SBI found themselves in the red zone. In the realm of specific stocks, PNB Housing Finance witnessed a commendable 6% surge, attributed to the full recovery of a corporate non-performing account amounting to Rs 784 crore. In a similar vein, shares of KEC International registered an upswing of 5%, owing to the acquisition of new orders valued at Rs 1,007 crore across diverse business domains.
Broader Market Movements
Turning our gaze toward the broader markets, the Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 indices showcased an upward trajectory, with an ascent of up to 0.6%. These movements were accompanied by positive sectoral shifts, except for the Nifty Media index. The Nifty Metal index, in particular, led the charge with a noteworthy surge of up to 0.8%.
