Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google, turned 49 today. Sundar, whose full name is Pichai Sundararajan, was named Google CEO in 2015, but his time with the company did not begin then.
He has been a Google employee since 2004. Pichai is one of the most powerful Indian-American men in the United States.
His achievements are still admired by Indians, but like many others, his path to success was not easy. Pichai was born on the 10th of June 1972 in Madurai, Tamil Nadu.
His mother was a stenographer. He was born to Regunatha Pichai, a GEC Electric Engineer. Pichai is thought to have been humbly brought up and lived in a two bedroom Ashok Nagar, Chennai apartment.

He finished his schooling with the Central Board of Secondary Education Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya.
Afterwards he became a coveted IIT Kharagpur and earned his B Tech in metallurgy Following that, he went on to Stanford University for his MS in materials science and engineering, followed by an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.
Pichai’s first job as a professional was not with Google. He worked in engineering and product management at Applied Materials and management consulting at McKinsey & Company.
He joined Google much later, in 2004. In 2004, Pichai was in charge of product management for a group of Google’s client software products, including Google Chrome. He was largely responsible for Google Drive, Chrome OS, and other Google products.
Android was another major project that he oversaw in 2013. Andy R was the previous manager.
As Google CEO in 2015, Pichai was chosen. He succeeded Larry Page, who together with Sergey Brin co-founded Google. Pichai joined the CEO of Alphabet Inc in 2019, the sister company of Google.
