Ashutosh Sharma Falls for 7 as DC’s Hopes Fade in IPL 2025
In yet another blow to Delhi Capitals (DC) in their chase of 205 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Ashutosh Sharma was dismissed for 7 runs off 6 balls, leaving DC struggling at 160/7 in the 17.2 over.
The Dismissal: Sharma Caught by Narine
The wicket came courtesy of Varun Chakravarthy, who delivered a smart, full-length ball that forced Sharma to attempt a shot. However, Sharma misjudged it, and the ball found its way to Sunil Narine at cover, who made no mistake in taking the catch.
Sharma’s quick departure dealt another significant blow to DC’s hopes of chasing down the total, as they continued to lose wickets in quick succession.
What This Means for DC’s Chase
With Sharma’s fall, DC now finds themselves at 160/7, and the required rate has skyrocketed. Rinku Singh, Vipraj Nigam, and the remaining batters will have to play out of their skins to keep the chase alive.
KKR, having taken control of the match, is now looking to finish strong and restrict DC to a low total. Varun Chakravarthy, along with Narine, has been a standout performer, and KKR will be aiming to close the game with a win.
