Faf du Plessis Dismissed for 62 as KKR Tightens Grip on DC’s Chase in IPL 2025

Faf du Plessis Dismissed for 62 as KKR Tightens Grip on DC’s Chase in IPL 2025

In a critical moment of today’s IPL 2025 clash between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Delhi Capitals (DC), Faf du Plessis was dismissed for 62 runs off 45 balls, leaving DC in a challenging position in their chase of 205 runs.

The Dismissal: Narine Strikes Again

The wicket came in the 16th over as Sunil Narine continued his excellent bowling performance. Narine, who had already been a key figure in KKR’s bowling attack, found success once again. Faf du Plessis, after an impressive innings, looked to accelerate against Narine but found himself caught by Rinku Singh at deep mid-wicket.

Narine’s disciplined bowling resulted in the fall of du Plessis, who had earlier played a brilliant knock, hitting 7 fours and 2 sixes with a strike rate of 137.77. His dismissal left DC at 146/6, and KKR took a major stride towards securing a victory.

What This Means for DC’s Chase

With Faf du Plessis walking back to the dugout, DC now faces a daunting task. The required rate is climbing, and with only a few wickets remaining, the chase is looking increasingly difficult. The onus now falls on Axar Patel, Tristan Stubbs, and the lower order to try and keep DC’s hopes alive.

KKR, on the other hand, will be feeling confident with Narine’s performance and the pressure they’ve applied on the DC batsmen. If they can continue this momentum, they will be well-positioned to defend their total of 204/9.
