EPS criticized the law and order situation in Tamil Nadu under the DMK government and accused DMK members of selling spurious liquor. He labeled MK Stalin as a puppet CM who doesn’t care about the welfare of the state’s people. EPS made these remarks during his visit to the victims receiving treatment at hospitals in Chengalpattu and Villupuram. The toll in the hooch tragedy has risen to 18.
Law and Order Failure:

Edappadi K Palaniswami highlighted a major law and order failure in Tamil Nadu since the DMK government assumed office. He criticized the lack of stringent action against those involved in selling spurious liquor. According to him, even DMK members are engaged in the sale of spurious liquor.
Failure to Contain Sale of Spurious Liquor:
Palaniswami pointed out that the state government has failed to control the availability of hooch despite his previous warnings in the Assembly. The sale of poor-quality locally brewed hooch and industrial alcohol mixed with methanol content has been identified as the cause of the hooch tragedy in Marakkanam and Chengalpattu.
Call for Resignation:
