Maharashtra Minister Deepak Kesarkar has revealed that former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray expressed his desire to rejoin the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) but with a condition that he be appointed as the Chief Minister for the next five years. Kesarkar made these comments while responding to Sanjay Raut’s claims about the reduction in Thackeray’s security, emphasizing that there has been no reduction and that the Shiv Sena should stop spreading false information.
Alleged Reduction in Security for Uddhav Thackeray
Addressing the media, Deepak Kesarkar, a minister in Maharashtra, refuted Sanjay Raut’s claims about a reduction in security for Uddhav Thackeray and his family due to political reasons. Kesarkar stated that the security level has not been reduced and that the state home department has provided clarification on the matter. He urged Shiv Sena leaders, including Aditya Thackeray, not to spread falsehoods about the security arrangements.
Uddhav Thackeray’s Condition to Join BJP
According to Kesarkar, Uddhav Thackeray expressed his interest in forming an alliance with the BJP again. However, Thackeray had a condition that he should be appointed as the Chief Minister for the next five years. Despite not fulfilling this condition, the BJP remained in constant contact with Thackeray, indicating a willingness to return to the Shiv Sena if they severed ties with both Congress and the Rashtrawadi Party.
Political Remarks and Allegations
Sanjay Raut, a Shiv Sena leader, launched a scathing attack on the BJP, stating that they would face the consequences of their actions. Raut attributed the alleged scaling down of security to political motives and insinuated that the BJP might resort to extreme measures such as violence or imprisonment. These remarks highlight the escalating political tensions between the Shiv Sena and the BJP in Maharashtra.
Hoardings Controversy
In another incident, hoardings featuring Uddhav Thackerayand Prakash Ambedkar, the leader of the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi, with Aurangzeb’s picture were put up in the Mahim area of Mumbai during midnight. The hoardings have since been removed, and the police are investigating the matter to identify the individuals responsible for putting them up. If any disturbance of law and order occurred, the police would register an FIR against the unknown perpetrators.
