Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Lakhisarai in Bihar on Thursday and address a mega rally in the region. This visit comes shortly after the opposition meeting held on June 23, organized by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Patna.
Details of the Visit
Amit Shah will arrive at the Patna airport in the afternoon, where he will be welcomed by senior BJP leaders, including the state president Samrat Choudhary, and other union ministers from Bihar. From there, he will take a helicopter to Lakhisarai in the Munger Lok Sabha constituency.
Before the public meeting, Amit Shah plans to offer prayers at Ashok Dham, a renowned shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. During the rally, he is expected to highlight the progress made by the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Enhanced Security Measures
Security has been heightened in Munger ahead of Amit Shah’s visit. Aerial surveillance using drones will be conducted to ensure the safety and security of the event, as confirmed by a police official.
Departure and Previous Visit
After the rally, the Union Home Minister will depart for New Delhi in the evening. His last visit to Bihar took place approximately three months ago.
Political Context
The Munger Lok Sabha constituency is currently represented by Rajiv Ranjan Singh, also known as ‘Lalan,’ who serves as the national president of Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) party. It is worth noting that the JD(U) ended its alliance with the BJP last year.
