Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 has been abuzz with Virat Kohli’s on-field performances and off-field remarks. However, on Tuesday, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper made headlines for a heartwarming gesture towards Mumbai Indians’ (MI) Suryakumar Yadav post his heroic knock against RCB. Kohli congratulated Yadav on his unbeaten 83 off 35 balls, which helped MI thrash RCB by six wickets.
Single-handedly taking the game away from RCB, Surya built a crucial 140-run stand with Nehal Wader, who scored an unbeaten 52. Despite losing the game, Kohli acknowledged Yadav’s brilliant performance. He hugged him and congratulated him on his knock.
Suryakumar Yadav shares his experience
Yadav shared his experience, “Your practice has to be the same as what you intend to do in matches. I know where my runs are. We have open net sessions. I know my game. I don’t do anything different.”
MI’s solid batting performance
Apart from Surya and Wadhera, opener Ishan Kishan also hammered 42 runs and gave MI a solid start, while skipper Rohit Sharma departed for just seven runs. RCB’s skipper Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell made half-centuries and helped RCB score 199-6 on the board.
