Mukesh Khanna, known for his role as Shaktimaan, has once again voiced his disapproval of the film ‘Adipurush’ and its creators, which stars Prabhas and Kriti Sanon. In an exclusive interview with ANI, he condemned the dialogues in the film and questioned the right of the filmmakers to mock Hindu scriptures. Khanna claimed that the makers had not properly studied the Hindu mythological epic and went as far as suggesting that they should be burned at 50 degrees Celsius.
Insulting Hindu scriptures and lacking knowledge, according to Khanna
Expressing his strong disapproval, Khanna stated, “I think this is a terrible joke with Ramayan. Who has given the right to anyone to insult our scriptures? I have even said that both of them have not even read Ramayan. Those who don’t know which blessing Ravan had received. They pasted the blessing of Hiranyakashyap on Ravan.” He further criticized their lack of knowledge, stating that they were making baseless claims and should not be forgiven. Khanna’s recent statement emphasized his belief that the entire team involved in the film should be burnt at a temperature of 50 degrees Celsius.
Challenging the makers on their understanding of Sanatan Dharma
Khanna continued his criticism by challenging the makers’ understanding of Sanatan Dharma, the ancient Indian religious and philosophical concept. He questioned whether their version of Sanatan Dharma differed from the commonly accepted interpretation and cited variations in the accounts of Valmiki and Tulsidas as examples of different perspectives within the epic. Khanna expressed disappointment that the team behind ‘Adipurush’ did not hide from the backlash but instead chose to explain their stance, claiming to create the film for Sanatan Dharma.
Mukesh Khanna’s previous comments and targetting Saif Ali Khan
Prior to this, Mukesh Khanna had already expressed his concerns about the film’s portrayal of characters from the Hindu mythological epic Ramayan. He specifically targeted Saif Ali Khan, who plays the role of Lankesh (Ravana) in the film. Khanna questioned the depiction of Ravana and criticized the makers for trying to add humor to the character. He urged them to stay true to the essence of the epic and warned against changing the characters.
