An advisory issued earlier this week by the Ministry of Power to all state governments and electricity authorities, urging them to make preparations for the National Convention of Workers strike, which is scheduled to take place from March 28 to March 30.
A formal advisory from the Ministry of Energy mandated that all power utilities take the necessary steps to ensure the regular operation of electricity grids and the availability of all plants, transmission lines, and substations on a 24-hour basis, seven days a week.
The Ministry of Defense has instructed all regional and state control room executives to maintain a high level of alertness throughout the duration of the two-day strike.
“Any incidents should be reported to the SLDC/RLDC and the NLDC, and everyone involved should be reminded to keep a close eye on their regional network/control area… Reliable electricity should be available to hospitals, the military, and railroads among other places.” The official statement can be found at this link: official statement.
According to the Power Ministry, in the event of an emergency, additional personnel can be deployed at all critical substations and power stations around the clock, seven days a week.
“It is critical that all defence mechanisms, such as the UFLS, df/dt, SPS, and so on, are fully operational at all times. Creating a Control Room that is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week can help with information dissemination and emergency response in the event of any type of disaster.” Check the sequence of events to make sure it is correct.
A nationwide strike has been called by a joint forum of central trade unions to protest government policies that affect workers, farmers, and the general public on March 28 and 29. The strike will take place throughout the country.
